PHIL100F . A Month Ago

Graded on two MTs, weekly HW assignments, and lecture & section attendance (no final!). Provides opportunity to raise grade for MT 1 in office hours, too! You can tell he cares a lot about the material as he's very open to questions in lecture, office hours, and email. Keith (TA) was incredibly helpful as well. Would recommend overall.

PHIL100F . 2 Months Ago

Jon is hands down one of the best philosophy instructors at UCSB. He is not only super passionate about what he teaches, but also super caring toward and considerate of students. Very accessible outside of class, offers two office hour sessions each week. Homework is straightforward, midterm questions were given in the study guide. Take him!

Phil-3 . 10 Months Ago

Jon was a really great professor. He is very well spoken, easy to understand, the only down side is that if you miss one lecture you will be lost. It's clear that he's passionate about philosophy and wants all of his students to succeed. Phil 3 can be pretty tough, but if you are going to take it, I would highly recommend his class.

Phil-3 . 11 Months Ago

Great class but can be difficult. Go to his office hours because he is very helpful. Attendance is mandatory and he doesn't post the slides so pay attention.
