ME16 . 1 Year, 7 Months Ago

Ive had some lectures so far. His class is so interesting and he explains everything super well. It's crazy how patient and how good at explaining stuff he is. Definitely take this professor.

ME16 . 3 Years Ago

Took during the summer. Prerecorded lectures are useless. All he does is derive and read out equations, variable by variable, without giving the intuition behind them. You can understand him if you're a computer. Synchronous lectures are similarly boring and unhelpful. Surprised he has such a high rating, maybe he's better in person.

Moehlis was one of the beset professors you can get. He is extremely clear, keeps it interesting as possible, and tests/grades very fairly. You should take him if you have the option.

ENG3 . 6 Months Ago

Professor Moehlis is the chair of the ME department, so I can only imagine he chooses to teach Engineering 3 out of pure enjoyment. He'll make sure you know what you need and spend the remaining time connecting the work to fascinating math concepts and personal stories. Those with any coding experience will pass easily, so I'd call it a win-win.

ENGR3 . 8 Months Ago

I came in with zero coding experience. It was easy. I rarely went to lecture, but I was still successful. Weekly homework, handwritten midterm, final project. Work with friends on homework and the final. The midterm is straightforward if you haven't been cheating your way through the class. Moehlis doesn't really add or take away from the class.

ENG3 . 9 Months Ago

Professor Moehlis is one of the best professors I've had so far! His lectures are very engaging and you can tell that he truly cares about his students. He gave us practice midterms which were very helpful for midterm prep. The prompts in lecture often mirror the homework, so even of you dont have prior coding experience its easy to learn.
