CollegeOne of the final prompts was to compare the roles of men and women in the Renaissance. However, few of the readings addressed women in the Renaissance beyond their roles within the family. This made the paper a challenge to write. The history department needs a serious rework, it is full of outdated and misogynistic ideas.
My experience in Professor Bouley's online summer course 121A was fun and intuitive. His lectures were pre-recorded and there were basically two major assignments, as well as weekly responses which were only about a page. It is definitely worthwhile to have good communication with your TA, made my session smooth as my TA was supportive
Lecture is good, but unclear grading criteria.
It is all depend on TA grading. grading criteria is unclear.
Bouley was the best professor Ive ever had. This was my first quarter at ucsb and despite being online, this class was great. We had 2 papers, weekly quizzes, and discussion boards. Take this class if you want to learn about the Renaissance and have an amazing prof. Solid all around.
I loved this professor. He was an amazing lecturer and I actually went to class. The grade mainly depends on your TA and mine was hard but AMAZING. I found this class very fulfilling and interesting. There was a midterm in-class essay and 2 vocab q's and a final paper. The rest of the grade is weekly writings and participation. Take this class!
