I love professor tyburczy! she is very engaging in her lectures and is very passionate in what she teaches. this class was seminar based so you did have to participate and show up to class. you also had to do weekly readings and the only thing graded were weekly questions/quotes posted, participation, and midterm/final essay. I would def recommend!

Amazing professor! So passionate, understanding and well spoken and allows so much space for students to engage with the course material and one another. Best professor I've ever had at UCSB and I would love to take any course offered by her again!

This professor is awesome. Great personality, clearly very passionate and knowledgeable, and probably the most unique professor I've had. She can be very abstract sometimes and it can be hard to follow, but her out of the box approach is what makes the class. The class was very easy and section was discussion-heavy.

Professor Tyburczy is such a character. She is hilarious and inspiring. I took FEMST80 and it honestly changed how I perceive the world. After I took her class, I began to look at things with a critical eye. Would definitely recommend!

I enjoyed this class, I think everyone should have to take a fem class at some point, and this is a good option if you're looking for one. Prof is very passionate and a little all over the place, but creates engaging discussions. Sections are discussion based. One section presentation, a paper and a group project at the end. Reading isn't necessary
