CollegeI'm really glad I took this class last spring. The lectures and reading material was really inspirational and I always felt that each class I was walking away with something new. You can tell the professor is an expert in her field and enjoys teaching. I'm not sure where these other ratings are from, she's one of the best teachers I've ever had.
So much reading and writing with unrealistic/unreasonable expectations. This final was the longest paper I have ever been assigned. The concept of this class sounds so cool but the way it is "taught" and a lot of the material given is dreadful.
Unclear grading and really bad at responding to students. Lectures do not include course content, used to talk about how ungreatful the students are and lazy. Interesting course but will not give Twine credit for what was learned. Lots of readings/documentaries she uses rather than teaching us anything. Tests include 3 timed essays over 1200 words.
You're reading all the reviews and wondering, hm should I take her? TL:DR no. Honestly the worst professor I've ever taken at UCSB. She is not accommodating at all and gives her students a tough time about time management yet she always uploaded lectures late and the dates on her syllabus were wrong. if u can DO NOT TAKE HER!!!
No doubt the worst teacher and worst class I have ever taken in my life. Do yourself a favor and never take one of her classes. Extremely tough grader who does not give any feedback. Lectures are extremely boring and filled with her ridiculously biased opinions. Don't make the same mistake I did and take this class.
The least understanding professor I have ever had in my life. Twine kept on changing the rubrics or due dates for assignments, giving us extremely short notice, and not being at all accommodating. She expects students to do everything perfectly and to miraculously understand what she's thinking, but is inconsistent herself. Don't take her classes.
