CollegeNick is clearly very passionate about music which I admire. I am not a music major and have very little experience with music so I found this class very difficult and time consuming for a GE. If you are a music major or have music experience, you will pass easily. A lot of the concepts don't translate well through lectures which are 3 times a week.
If u have played piano this class is very doable. Pretty engaging lectures and he references songs from all genres. Also had good TA's and everything on the test is super expected
He's a good guy! he is a stickler for taking notes on paper instead of on google docs, but that's not too much of a hassle. he does offer recorded lectures if you have a sufficient enough reason, and he's pretty good about responding to emails. if you can, try and take Birch as the TA for this course. she makes everything twice as easier.
Prof Jurkowski is honestly one of the best lecturers at this place. He is so passionate about what he is teaching. He made me so excited to go to class everyday. Truly cares about us and how we are. Could not recommend enough. Midterm and final were writing tests, but they were the study guide verbatim. I LOVE THIS MAN.
