Sedimentation and Stratigraphy: Processes and Products . EARTH 122
Transport/depositional processes, sedimentary textures and structures. Sedimentary environments, using facies models for observation & prediction. Principles of lithostratigraphy, biostratigraphy, chronostratigraphy, and magnetostratigraphy. Seismic stratigraphy and sequence stratigraphic principles. Controls of tectonics, sediment supply and eustacy on sedimentation. Lab, lecture and field trip(s). The field component consists of some 1 day field trips and may include a 2-4 day overnight trip.
