Political ecology enables an interdisciplinary understanding of environment-society relations. Focusing on power and inequalities, this course will provide theoretical and methodological tools to critically analyze historical and contemporary ecological practices, agricultural livelihoods, and urban development. In the process, it will support the construction of equitable and resilient solutions to local and global environmental problems.

Prerequisites: Upper-division standing.
