Extremely poor communicator with limited respect for students and colleagues. I would be hesitant to take this professor's class as learning may be hampered by unclear expectations. He seems to spend a large amount of time running a nutraceuticals company rather than being an actual mentor, teacher, and contributor. Very frustrating experience.

This class is chaotic and headache-inducing. Professor Weimbs rarely came to our lab class and when he did he just walked around silently. We never got a grading rubric and had to write an entire research paper at the end of the quarter without any guidance. The TAs are great, but can't really make up for how disorganized the class is.

Thomas was pretty absent as far as the lab course went. while the course is designed well and you learn a lot, youre learning entirely from the TAs because Thomas cares more about his on campus lab than he does about teaching. Barely gives any feedback on papers

Dr. Weimbs is a great professor because he truly teaches you how to do research from start to finish. He is concise with his teaching, and gives you personal feedback on the scientific papers that you write. In his class you will learn a few of the most widely used lab applications in biology. Take his class, you won't regret it!

I enjoyed the class he taught highly. His choice of experiments, methods, and knowledge for students to learn is invaluable in a lab setting. I also appreciated that he required a professional science paper with photoshopped images, he is very helpful with learning how to do it too!

He expects a lot from his students and teaches the class as if it were a real research lab. This class was a lot of work but I am so glad that I took it. The only thing that I didn't like was that made all of the papers due at the end of the quarter, so you had to write a mod paper weekly starting around week 6 or 7. Overall, good class!
