MATH8 . 7 Years Ago

Her accent isn't significant, she's very easy to understand if you're paying attention. She explains the proof methods clearly and I learned a lot in her class. Tests were the same difficulty and topics as the homework, which is turned in weekly and graded for correctness. The required written homework helped me really learn all the topics.

Wei is an excellent professor. Her lectures teach students important theorems from the book and proofs her gives are clear and easy to understand. Although attendance is not mandatory, one should not miss her lectures. Final is largely based on homework and not hard at all for students who carefully finish their homework with their own effort.

MATH108A . 7 Years Ago

Wei is one of the better upperdiv professors. Her class is tough but she is very willing to help students and listens to feedback -- she won't just brush you off if you're struggling. There's 4 pop quizzes each quarter, and she assigns quite a bit of homework but in the end you'll definitely learn the material. Her tests are tough but reasonable.

MATH8 . 10 Years Ago

Her lectures were pretty clear and concise. She gave a lot of hw, but that should be expected for math 8 if you want to do well. I highly recommend reading the book along with the lectures!

MATH8 . 10 Years Ago

Math 8 is a hard class regardless of who the professor is. Professor Wei did have good lectures and was really helpful in office hours. But our weekly homework assignments were graded ridiculously hard. Expect no more than a C average on the homework. She also taught us a new topic during the final. Go to office hours for help.
