CollegeI don't understand how people are supposed to learn this heavy of material in this amount of time. Mouti is a nice guy but gets confused during his own lectures and makes mistakes often. I should have taken the hint when looking at his grade distribution last spring seeing 35% of students got a D or lower. These problems can be taught much easier.
His lectures are sometimes disorganized and I wonder if it was because his first time teaching pstat171 ( but I guess it’s not his first time). During lectures, he was confused by himself several times and I remember there was one time he literally spend around 40mind to a single example and he couldn’t figure out.
Don't take his class!!!
Terrible professor. The problems in his slides are normal. But the homework is harder. The midterm and final is even the hardest. 60 minutes for 6 questions with full justifications in midterm. Don't have enough time.
Incredibly difficult. Mandatory lectures basically useless, teaches as if you already understood the content before walking into lecture. Tests are fast and problems are much more difficult than those on hw/lectures. If must take him, look up Analyst Prep SOA Exam Fm on youtube, channel goes over entire course and is much easier to learn from.
Dr. Mouti is not the best lecturer but he is nice and caring, always trying to help students in either OH or Discord outside of class. We have four quizzes and his tests are hard, but I like the quarterly project he assigned. The project enhances our understanding on Regression and coding in R. He gives 15% of credit if you show up to 8am lecture.
