Conservation planning practitioners have knowledge and skill sets that focus on protecting and maintaining biodiversity in the face of global changes to land, water, and climate. This course addresses the basic principles of ecosystem and landscape ecology, conservation theory, monitoring and adaptive management, interdisciplinary engagement, and problem solving. Moret was one of the best professors I have had at UCSB. Her lectures are really interesting I feel like I actually learned something. I loved the field trips that were incorporated into the class. Seriously a fun class and allows you to be creative. Would 100% take again.

There were lots of little assignments so yes you have to put time into this class but overall an easy A. I took as a GE so the class was full of freshmen. I feel like we never really go in depth and most of the content is just a quick summary of the different ES topics, but overall I am glad I took this class. Moret is cool.

Moret is very passionate about her work, and the class is very easy. All assignments are basically participation based, as you should get a 100% on each assignment as long as you write something related to the topic and around the word count. There are two midterms which are take home and open note which is amazing. There is also no final. Easy A.

This professor was very knowledgable however she was tasked with teaching many courses this quarter and didn't seem like she had the time to fully engage in our course. The first 3 weeks were online and after that we had one lecture in person and one lecture online per week. Assignments were fairly easy and exams were online. Section was fun.

Great class, great professor. Has very clear deadlines, criteria, and overall info on each component of the course that you will rarely need to ask a question. There are quite a few assignments, however they are doable and yo are given ample time to complete each. Three fun field trips, two group projects. Time management is key. AMAZING GE.

Moret clearly cares deeply about the subjects she teaches about. I also had her for es 40 (not as fun of a class) and she always wants her students to do the best they can. She's also very inclusive and makes sure to note inequalities that come up in these subjects. Overall, I'd recommend her classes.
