CollegeI loved Professor Ninh so much, her lectures were so interesting and the material we covered was so cool. She was a tough grader on the close reading assignments but left great feedback on how to improve your work. Definitely do the readings and participate in class, it will make the course 100x better.
Okay so I took this course as a GE and damn she is the worst! She's sweet and all, but she is incredibly disorganized with her lectures and work. I spend more time trying to figure out what her prompts are trying to say than actually doing the readings! This is my first ever professor review, it had to be done
need to read five books and write 5 essays
Little guidance was given on assignments, and lectures were unnecessarily overcomplicated and confusing. Prof Nihn is passionate and kind, and I'd highly recommend going to her office hours. However, I often felt like she lacked the ability to explain things in a straightforward way, especially in class. Overall would not recommend for a GE.
Dont' take it. Not an easy GE at ALL. The TAs graded all assignments centered around a B. Not a GPA booster class at all. Tons of reading. Terrible experiences
Having a passion for the literature makes this class a 5. Prof is very nice cares about what she teaches. Short quiz in section every week with 4 writing assignments making up your grade (with an optional final!). TA grades everything. Overall, it is an easy GE with a nice prof who is not strict-- and you can't go wrong with that.
