CollegeOverall outgoing and nice professor. Wished he focused more on actual course material we would get tested on rather than ranting off about current events which aren't included in final. No curve at the end. Learned more from his textbook than actual lectures and sections. He's a nice person, but could do better in teaching tbh
overall a pretty solid and charismatic prof. a lot of extra "grade boosters" through hw and section assignments, try and do well on the midterm for a good foundation. midterm and final are all mcqs and can be tricky and wordy, so beware! the past midterm and final are the best resource on tophat to study off of and mirror difficulty. study harddd!
love him, charismatic and informative. section is mandatory on 5 out of the 10 weeks, but not anything difficult (ai-integrated activities). lecture is definitely helpful, one midterm mcq exam + final. was absolutely devastated by that midterm grade... practice exam is misleadingly easy so beware. but don't lose hope, apply yourself!!!
Genuinely the GOAT
I thought Matt was a great prof! The class was pretty easy if you did all of the required quizzes and practiced the exams beforehand and really payed attention in lecture. You did have to purchase his online textbook, but other than that you only had to attend certain sections which was nice.
Poorly made lectures, poorly made textbook which he wrote and makes you pay for (side hustle), useless section which is always rushed, midterm miles harder than practice midterm. He seems nice but I hated this class. I took AP macro and this is my worst grade at ucsb.
