I love Tara! SOC 146 Collective Memory was a great class and quite interesting. We haven't gotten our grades back yet, but I am projected to get an A. Easy, short readings. Group assignments at least once a week in class. 2 papers that were very manageable and an in-person final.
Loved Tober! Material was not boring at all and I always found the lectures entertaining. I got an A in the class - it was quite easy, we had a good TA too. This was one of the only classes that I enjoyed the reading for!!!
3rd time taking her. She's great! Sometimes she would have classwork to submit, but you should just attend class to receive credit. Quizzes were confusing sometimes, but overall was fine. Group project at the end of the year where we had to organize our own social movement and include class concepts. Def a more lenient and caring professor!
SOC1 with Dr. Tober is EXTREMELY easy. I skipped more than half of the lectures and got an A, because the lecture slides are posted online and are nearly identical to the textbook. On top of that, the content itself is not difficult at all, and mostly common sense. Dr. Tober's lectures were very easy to understand and very very slow paced.
TAKE SOC 1! I absolutely loved Dr. Tober's class. What I loved most about the class were her lectures. She knows her material so well -- I felt like I was watching a TedTalk. The assignments are straightforward. If you engage, it's absolutely achievable to get an A.
