One of my favorite professors at UCSB, inspired me to minor in German as well! Prof Ben is super funny and an excellent teacher, genuinely cares about you learning and gentle parents when your German is bad. Must attend class almost 4/5 days of the week but it's part of the learning process. Never a dull moment.

Anna Pajak teaches in a way that helps you truly learn a language and is super supportive of learning. She explains concepts clearly and gives helpful feedback without making you feel discouraged. The class is very participation heavy and you must attend almost every class, but I honestly looked forward to this class every day.

I LOVE Anna (and the rest of the German department). She is so sweet and caring. Classes/homework/quizzes are extremely easy. There is homework every day and a quiz every Thursday, but HW takes 15 minutes tops and practice quizzes are provided the day before. If you want to take a language I would highly recommend German with any of the profs.

Anna is such an amazing and fun professor with a big smile. She brings lollipops and sweet treats often. We play games every class and you get to know our classmates. You have a short homework assignment after each class. Can't miss more than 8 classes. NO TESTS She cares more about speaking abilities rather than mastering every grammatical rule.

If you're thinking of taking German, take it with Anna. She was such a great professor and made class every day fun! You'd get homework every day (takes like 20-30 minutes to complete) and a small test every Thursday. Great class!!!
