She has so much knowledge to offer and it was such an interesting course to take! I do think that the units material had a lot of work, but the quizzes + discussions were easy points. The 3 papers were fine as long as you carefully follow the instructions. She ended up giving us extra credit too, I definitely recommend taking her!

Nothing to complain about for the lectures, although a bit repetitive. The discussion posts and quizzes are easy points as long as you do them. However, the difficulty of this course comes with the grading of the three writing assignments. Prof. Taylor claims they are graded harsher to compensate for the easiness of the weekly assignments.

Avoid. Never took SOC155 with this professor. Never. I'm good at writing, but the three assignments really hits me. I never received any detailed written feedback from my TA, and all of the TAs are harsh grader. I don't know who can get A in this class.

Lecture credit is mandatory, but I feel like I gained more from her posted lectures from covid rather than in person. She goes on tangents a lot and loves to hear herself talk but the overall class is interesting. The grading criteria of "excellent" isn't clear on essays. Weekly quizzes and 3 papers

I never have a class with such awesome Lectures. They are well-organized and easy to get. However, the assignments are twice a week, 3 pages maximum, and it is very harshly graded the mean score is always 140/200. It has a section of "writing everything excellently ", but we just do not know what does excellently mean.

Every week, quizzes and discussions can be easy ways to earn points. However, the problem lies in assignment #1~3, which constitutes a significant portion of the grade. Despite following all the instructions, the grading for these assignments was very harsh. If you are good at writing, try this course. After this class, I really hate gender things.
