CollegeA great lecturer for 7A. Take my word with a grain of salt, I had taken AP Physics C before so these concepts were review, but he definitely is great at explaining things. Homework is fair and helpful, and tests can include challenging problems but they're always within reach.
Pretty chill, just a standard physics course. Everything is clear about what you will be tested on and the homework is plenty to prepare.
The midterm and final were pretty reasonable and the workload was fine. The curved grading scale was really nice. You might have to put in a lot more effort if you've never taken physics before.
I strongly disliked the class structure. The homework was tedious: weekly assignments and a pre-lecture assignment before every class. Also, the class goes by too slow for people who have done mechanics, and too fast for everyone else. The professor is fine and the grading is very generous. I took this class P/NP and aimed for 57.5%. 87.5% is an A.
Physics 7B is hard, but Koutroulakis is a good professor. His exams were hard, and I never felt prepared for them. I think he does the best he can; the course just sucks. I hate his discussion sections, though. A 2 hour discussion section is wild and unnecessary for this class. I don't know anyone who actually likes to go to section.
Lectures are great and concepts are explained very well. The class is very organized and only topics covered in class are on the exams. The homework assignments and discussion questions prepare you well for the exams
