Collegelecture heavy with mandatory attendance, but if you pay attention and write down whatever is on the slides (and he points out the important stuff) you will be fine. final and midterm were a bit dense, but if you emphasize things like dates and locations, you will get free points. overall, a really fun and interesting class w/ enjoyable lectures
Professor Steavu is very knowledgeable on the material he is teaching and if you're interested in buddhism it's a good class. He doesn't allow any technology in lecture tho and won't post the slides. You can't miss class because he takes attendance and there's no way to get the material. His midterm and final are closed note and kind of brutal.
He is extraordinarily knowledgeable and makes understanding the info really easy. There are virtually no readings and the tests are literally and exact reflection of what he goes over in lecture. Just go to lecture and write down the bolded tests and you'll get an A. super funny guy and makes lectures genuinely enjoyable.
Makes you take notes by hand but its actually helpful for memorization. Paper heavy and lots of in class writing asignments.
Attendance was mandatory; it counted for your grade. HW was fairly simple. Class sometimes got boring because you're mostly copying the slides (by hand btw). BUT he's also funny and if you copy what's on his slides, you'll be more than fine.
Lectures are very well formatted and his course has a very thought out structure. Must go to lecture since all of the material is only shown in lecture, and he will take attendance in lecture. Homework was one reading analysis every 2 weeks, no final, but midterms sucked with 3 essays and 4 SAQ's in only an hour and 15. Amazing class though.
