The class was relatively easy and prof Griffin was very devoted and passionate about the subjects. We did have to read 3 books and write 3 papers, but they were honestly not awful and it was spread out enough. Will say the class was a bit unorganized so some assignments were confusing at times. Overall not a bad A2 req. class.

Professor is a good lecturer, but if you don't like English to begin with, this class can get very boring. Thankfully there are not too many assignments, but with the assignments you have, they are very abstract (which can be both a pro and a con). Only complaint is not knowing what our final was until a week before, I had to cram in the last week.

The final was diabolical. We didn't know what the final was until exactly a week before. I got an A+, but I worked so hard go get it. By no means was this an easy class. I had Henry Coburn as a TA and he was a tough grader. The rubric/ directions for the assignments were so unclear its crazy. GO TO LECTURE!!

I really liked the content of the class and Griffin is a pretty good lecturer. There were three required books and about 15 sonnets but it was only important to know them on the final. Some of the assignment instructions are unclear and the grading is very subjective so make sure you get to know your TA and ask them clarifying questions.

Grading policy was so unclear. Mixed gradings between TAs and never showed total grade. TAs graded the papers so harshly. After taking the final (that he told us about a few days before), I want to drop this class. Do not recommend. Worst class I've taken here (and I've gone through ochem). Avoid Griffin at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!!
