CollegeSimilar sentiment to some other reviews on here. Spent $140 on supplies and used probably $25 of it. His weekly projects aren't necessarily difficult, but INCREDIBLY time consuming. I wouldn't say his lectures are boring, but they definitely feel long.
I spent over $160 on art supplies for this class that he said were required and I didn't even end up using most of them. We had projects every week, some of them requiring you to go to the classroom to use the materials there. He always took points off of projects for no reason. The lectures are extremely long, boring, and hard to pay attention to.
Amazing professor with true passion, funny, accessible, understanding, talented. He gives good feedback on the projects, which aren't hard but are time consuming and he actually looks at them. Quizzes are easy if you go to class, he shows cool stuff in lectures, hopefully I can take him again. Rare to see profs w experience and teaching passion!
Great class, he's super charismatic and makes the class very enjoyable. Classes are mandatory, don't skip- that's where projects are demonstrated and explained, hard to do if you miss that. Loved the class but be ready to pay a significant amount of cash for the art supplies/tickets to the mandatory performances.
If you're just taking this for the units- don't, definitely one of my biggest mistakes ever. So many necessary materials, so many hours of work poured into the projects, so many tears shed over it.
Lots of homework. Really a TOUGH grader!!! Not clear about some grading criteria so really don't know why some points were taken off. There are weekly quizzes and they are based on really detailed stuff from the two-hours lecture.
