Intensive theoretical and laboratory instruction in solid-state device and integrated circuit fabrication. Topics include 1) semiconductor material properties and characterization; 2) phase diagrams; 3) diffusion; 4) thermal oxidation; 5) vacuum processes; 6) thin-film deposition; 7) scanning electron microscopy. Both gallium arsenide and silicon technologies are presented.

Prerequisites: ECE 132 or equivalent.

ECE220A . 4 Months Ago

Take the ugrad. equiv. course until the current TA (Connor D.) graduates. Enjoyed the course very much and Professor's nice, but ultimately your final grade falls on Connor. There are no set grading rubric to fall for, no explicitly stated OH, rude and bare min. feedback, and yet the curriculum is the same as 120A. I lucked out w/diff co-TA
