CollegeEvelyn is my favorite teacher at ucsb so far. Participation is important, however she creates a very comfortable and open environment. She is patient, funny, and she really cares about her students. She also teaches some aspects of Austrian culture and their dialect. The workload was not bad, a worksheet was due by the next day of instruction.
Professor Reder has a clear and infectious enthusiasm for teaching which makes her classes extremely positive, informative, and relaxed. We learn about relevant topics, interesting stories, and even watch movies here and there. A lot of grammar is learned in this class, but it is in a fun, engaging, and conversationally-relevant manner.
One of the best professor's I've ever had. Many students prioritize other coursework since German is rarely their major, and as unfortunate as that reality is, Evelyn is super patient and understanding so long as you put in the effort to learn the material and participate in class. You will no doubt have a wonderful time in her class!
Evelyn is so sweet and nice and she has a great sense of humor. Because of her I fell in love with the German language and culture. During the quarter, you'll do a couple of group projects, but no stressful final exam!
Evelyn is wonderful. I enjoyed her class so much. She's caring, funny and patient and she really wants everyone to succeed. She is flexible and she will always help you outside of class if you have questions. Plus, no expensive textbook!
Best professor I've had at UCSB. Can tell she really cares about her students. Wish she taught more than just German because I would take those classes of hers too. Definitely recommend.
