CollegeEasy exams, technical but straight-forward labs. He seems like a sweetheart honestly. He had a few lectures that were pretty interactive which I liked. On the other hand, some lectures are like watching a black and white movie.
Great class! Lectures are easy to follow, two exams for the quarter which were both online and could be taken anytime in a 24hr window. There were labs mostly every week which were doable in during section. If you needed help on the lab or had any questions about material the T.A.'s and Prof McFadden were more than happy to speak with you.
There are six labs, a midterm and a final. The labs can be difficult but as long as you finish them you'll probably get close to 100 on them. TA's were helpful. Midterm and final were somewhat hard but if you listen and take notes during lectures you should do fine.
One of the best classes I have ever taken at UCSB! His lecturing is great, the subject matter was interesting and he want's you to do well. The labs can be tedious though.
very interesting class that i took for my geography major. Prof is very clear about what he wants and his lectures outline the important parts of the textbook. labs can be tedious at times but are fairly straightforward. TA is Shane Grigsby, he really knows his stuff and is very helpful as well
Professor McFadden is great. He shows a lot of interest in remote sensing and it really comes across in his lectures. Labs have varying levels of difficulty but are written well. I recommend this class if you are going for the Geography with an emphasis in GIS major
