CollegeThis guy will have you listening to his 67 jokes all quarter, learn absolutely nothing, fail both the exams and end up with a B.
Not a big fan of his lectures, but he cares about his students and is very down to earth, which is rare for professors. His class is very fair and if you show up to class and make the flashcards you will do well guaranteed.
Prof. Lipshutz is one of the most inspiring professors I've had. Super passionate about green chemistry and makes lectures actually interesting. Challenging class but you'll come out understanding and appreciating chemistry more.
He makes it clear that you will definitely not fail this class. I did not do very well on the midterm and final (~50%), but I still passed his class. I did not attend lectures — instead I focused on flashcards and mechanisms which make up most of the tests. I highly recommend going to his study sessions since he goes over specific problems.
Lipshutz is a funny guy, but I really learned nothing in this class. I went to every lecture and did all of the flash cards but still felt like I didn't learn an ounce of Ochem. I got a B tho, despite getting like 50% on both tests. If you're really into O-Chem, I think he's probably a great professor. Otherwise, wouldn't recommend.
Would take again, but must attend lectures regularly and it helped to have the flashcards he suggested in the beginning of the course.
