DO NOT TAKE SANTORI. You'll thank me later. Two 10 page papers, incomprehensible lectures, paper prompts nonsensical, infatuated with the sound of his own voice, TA's openly contradict him during section. VERY DIFFICULT, AVOID AT ALL COSTS! And this is coming from a good student.
Worst pol sci prof I've had. His lectures are ramblings of his own thoughts that are completely pointless for the papers which are 10 pages each. He should have just made a reader, but he wants you to read 5 entire books just for background info that you don't ever need. Prompts don't make any sense whatsoever, Don't know how this man got a degree
Not really sure where to begin, the structure of the class is two take home midterms (5-10pg papers) and take home final (10pg paper). This is decieving however, the proposals for his tests are a complete joke. Bordering on incomprehensable the class is beyond demanding. I consider myself a good student but this professor should be avoided.
He is impossible.. unless you do like philosophy then go for it hes all yours
Prof santori is a really nice guy... very helpful. And knows alot about his subject and wine. His other hobby is wine. If you want to be in his good books get him a champagne or white burgandy.
had him for urban politics. i thought he was a great professor. really knows his stuff, and if you attend his lectures, it's not terribly difficult either. the papers are a ****, but they take the place of the midterms and final, and if you do well enough on the first midterm you can double your grade and have no more work until the final paper.
Great professor that explains political theory quite clearly without limiting your own interpretations of it. Grade is based on 3 papers(25% each) and attendance(25%). Second paper is optional, he will count 1st one twice if you want. Overall great class and great professor that always keeps students engaged. No textbooks, only political texts.
It turned out to be more Sociology and Psychology than Political Science but that is NOT a bad thing. He incorporated readings of urban life and race that, from a mainstream view, would seem outdated and boring, but turned out to be rather influential and interesting as well.
