Good teacher. Definitely one of the most insane teachers at the school, but the class was so informative and very unlike most university classes in its style. Grading isn't hard, and I would recommend it to anyone interested in the subject. She takes quite an unexpected approach to the class.
Just terrible. Not funny, rants about late people, doesn't really teach anything.
I had her back in the fall of 1995 and let me tell you, she was just AWFUL. She gave the best speaker and writer in the class a C-. Lectures were very difficult to follow and wasn't at all compassionate to her students. She was the lone horrendous UCSB experience I had the displeasure of having. Everyone else was just wonderful.
Her lectures are very unclear and she talks with such a dramatic tone, sometimes very loud, sometimes down to a whisper it could be very hard to hear. She refuses to write down anything on the board so you have to be able to listen to (sometimes) inaudible descriptions and write quickly at the same time. The essay questions on the exams are hard.
This class is hard, do not take it unless you have to. You have to read alot (some books are on sparknotes so don't buy them) and the midterm, final and the 10 pg. paper are hard. I worked my ass off for this class and still only got a B+.
She is a very funny woman, and she is really entertaining. One problem is that she seems to stray off topic though. A lot of what she is rambling about is simply her own life story and little to do with what will be on the Midterm and Final.
Basically, she is rather funny, but being funny doesn't help you learn the material. She is absolutely unclear, and wanders from unrelated topic to unrelated topic until class is over. If it weren't for my T.A., I would've written my whole paper about "urban legends" and "Ghost." This class SHOULD HAVE BEEN really insightful.
I thought that she gave clear analysis on all the readings and she kept me very entertained.
She is hillarious. She's not condescending, she's helpful, insightful and did I mention hillarious? She obviously expects a higher level of thinking, but so does every othe prof., they're not going to spoon feed you.
Professor Enders is absolutely hilarious and the class is really interesting...assuming you like ancient Greek literature and the like.

She is very...well her. She's a good prof. and makes her lectures enjoyable and fun as well as stimulating. Her tone is never condisending, just funny. Get over it.
she goes out of her way to be rude and she even outright insulted a grad student right in front of me
Best prof I've ever had, very encouraging, great subjects, and a blast when she lectures.
She is ABSOLUTELY ANNOYING. I am not lying the class could be much better with a diffent professor who does not talk in such a condescneding manner. I flat out think that she needs to stop being so DRAMATIC. We are not in a play, she is not an actor anymore.
looks like you should stay away from her french, but her public speaking class is very fun. She can be rude sometimes, but she is very informative and makes the class pretty fun, encouraging conversation to and among students. I reccommend taking DA 65
She is a tough grader and expects an advanced level of thinking out of students in order to get an A. She is not a bad teacher just very tough when it comes to grading essays and such. I got an A with her but I worked very, very hard to get it!!!
I have never had a teacher more unwilling to help her students than her. She is rude and will go out of her way to make her students feel stupid. She grades unfairly, believing that she is always in the right. I have never had problems with my teachers before. My advice: Stay away from her classes.
She speaks with a really really exaggerated accent that is sometimes hard to listen to. She can be a pretty rough grader - don't go in expecting all A's.
Enders speaks in a very condescending tone when you ask for help. Very knowledgable and her class is not that hard but the woman is hard to write for; she expects perection and will tell you when you are not brilliant, which is all the time.
