This professor has very bad hand-writing and the lectures are so confusing. Avoid this!!!!
This is the worst math professor I've ever had, and the most outrageous thing is that he was half an hour late on midterm day.
The textbook is hard to read. The definitions or lemmas in the textbook could not even be found on wikipedia, so I spent much time in understanding the textbook. Professor Morrison is so kind and he marked the exams leniently. By the way, non-Euclidean geometry is a really fancy topic.
Missed the grading deadline, graded neither midterm by the time the final came. Reads verbatim out of the textbook. 6/60 people attended lecture.
This guy was asked by the class multiple times for our midterm grades before the P/NP deadline on the last day of instruction. He kept saying "ah yes midterms this week I'll get them graded". well, its after finals week now, and we still don't have our midterm grades back! He's seriously been the least helpful professor I've ever had.
The worst professor I've ever met. You don't get your midterm grade and almost all the homework grades until one day before the final. Only one of the problems in each homework is graded and no partial credit is given. Lack of information for everything. Lectures are not helpful and his handwriting is not readable.
Very nice professor considering he curved a lot for the class. Confusing lectures based on his handwriting and nonstop speaking. Read the textbook to understand the conceptual stuff. Exams were fair since he curves if the average is less than he expects. If you put in the work, you'll get an A or B. Have to pay for homework tho.
Not as bad as his ratings suggest. Decent professor and nice guy. Not the best lecturer, and pretty sloppy handwriting that makes reading his work difficult, but he will always answer questions. Very fair exams. The book is excellent, and linear algebra is heavily proof based, so you should be reading that anyways. Put in effort and you'll be fine.
He was straight-up terrible
Very confusing teacher. Uses poor examples to demonstrate class material. MUST TAKE CLAS. However, tests were straight forward if you studied the textbook and curve was generous. Can miss 1 quiz, 2 HW assignments, and 3 lectures. Seems like nice guy but poor at lecturing Math 4A. Would not take again with same teacher.
He knows his stuff and is a good guy, but unfortunately Morrison is not a great teacher. Linear algebra is slightly interesting once you get a grasp of it, but he does little to make it more exciting. I also disliked the book; too many proofs without explanations. Make sure to sign up for CLAS; I would have struggled even more without it!
Starts class with a music video and joke iClicker question. Professor was helpful but goes through some topics quickly and vaguely. You can miss 1 quiz, 2 homeworks, and 3 lectures without penalty. Read the chapter before lecture and take CLAS if you need extra help.
He made a lot of jokes in class, which makes everyone enjoy his lecture. He loves math! His tests are easy (usually 87% as average), but he does not curve the grade. Take his class.
I took his Math 3C, and wasn't really happy with it. But his Phys 100B was really good. He cares more when it is a upper division class. His lecture is very interesting. He made up so many jokes. Problems on tests were usually the same type of problem in hws. He really likes math!
This guy sucks! do not take him. he gives lame pop quizzes to make sure you go to class. He teaches math off powerpoints and really who does that?
