Excellent professor. Her exams are very easy if you study for them based on the power points she posts online. She is also very helpful in class or during office hours if you have difficulty understanding anything
A lot of reading and she goes through her notes quickly. Her midterms are practically the same questions as the study questions and she has two one page assignments that are easy. If you read half of what she assigns youll get an A
I was really pumped on anthro before taking the class.. and now, not so much. Not a very nice woman, and I ended up with a much lower grade than I had anticipated- so all the work for nothing. Do yourself a favor, take the class with a different professor.
she put me to sleep.
She had a very thick accent. Her class made us tired. I always fell asleep during the weekly videos (that contain naked people and a guy scratching his nuts) the class was interesting... its alot of reading
Do the reading. Basically I was fine for the midterm because I actually read, but then I stopped reading and I bombed the final. So read. She is hard to understand sometimes in lecture. And her hair is very distracting.
do the study guides and try and be on top of the reading and you will be fine. she is an ok lecturer, she could not keep the lecture hall quiet sometimes and it was hard for her to get everyone's attention.
Soooo boring! She said the dumbest, most irrelevant things ever. The readings were OK, and the tests were ridiculously easy. An OK class, but not a good teacher.
She's awesome
MAN. so freakin boring. she has huge hair and is way too obsessed with bali. i don't care about bali that much! she is so loopy... she starts with one topic and ends with another... it just leaves the audience confused. it's a lot of reading i didn't really enjoy... don't take this class. definitely NOT worth it. blech.
ugh. boring as all hell, obsessed with Bali, and dear lord that hair... the class itself is a breeze, i didnt study at all, didnt read any of the books, and still managed an A. if youre willing to sit through her ridiculous and uninteresting anecdotes about her time in Bali, then its an easy class. she has a THICK Dutch accent which can be confusin
boring class. do not take.
not terribly interesting, but i enjoyed the ethnographies. also, Cremers' hair is awesome, and she's a nice person. it was an easy class
whole grade based on midterm/final, both are multiple choice. class starts out interesting, but starts to get sort of dull. does a two week unit on bali, and really, bali is just not that fascinating. overall, though, the class isnt too bad. just a lot of vocab.
when i signed up for the class I thought i was signing up for "cultural anthropology." I thought we were going to learn from a text book..oh no..we had to learn from a book the size of a magazine and take a ridiculously stupid final on it. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME! and..even worse, HER HAIR! I bet she brought back some balinese people with her in her
go to lectures and read and you'll get an A. not terribly difficult. lectures are pretty boring, as she kind of mumbles. easy midterm
she dasnish and you cant understand her
worst teacher ever...extremely boring...hard to see the overheads because half of her hair covers it...gets very upset when cell phones ring...tries to make jokes but no one laughs...basically dont take anthro if she is the teacher
She attempts to make it interesting, but really it is not from her point of view. Sometimes she is hard to understand because of her accent. She seems like she is nice in person, but otherwise, not exactly the greatest professor.
she is a really nice lady, but the class gets soo boring. the reading is all very intersting and i wish she would make her lectures interesting. anthro is very interesting, however she is NOT. she can also be extremely rude to people...she yelled at someone for yawning..c'mon
she may be a little off topic at times and her notes are unorganized but the class is relatively easy, tests are basically from her lectures, she's a very cute little lady that doesn't mind helping if you just ask
this class is pretty easy, and you can do well from just common sense and listening to lecture and discussion. prof cremers is helpful, too, and gives good, accurate examples. she's so cute too! i love her personal anecdotes, even if they do seem sort of irrelevant to the class at times.
Pretty easy. Nice lady. Her lectures review the assigned reading material. Midterm was multiple choice, pretty common sense stuff. You can pass easily if you do the reading and attend lectures. A good TA helps too.
You cannot understand this professor. She is unnecessarily rude. It is very easy to fall asleep in her class, even though the seats are uncomfortable. Her accent is very hard to understand.
