Professor Sideris shows step by step how do problems, however he doesn't teach in a way that students can understand visually. And this is very important getting to the Linear Algebra part. I don't think he explains concepts well at all. The good thing about his class was that his tests were not too challenging, and very similar to hw problems
The only reason he was considered a bad lecturer this quarter was because he did not use a black board (it was too small). Very manageable tests though, if you go to discussion and CLAS. Weekly quizzes, but it's always one question and really easy. Pay attention to things he repeats in class, cause chances are, they'll be on the test or on a quiz.
I think I failed the final.
he seems somewhat oblivious to everything beyond the front row
Sideris is pretty good. Speaks proper English and is very clear and concise; never did I feel lost during his lectures. He does have short, easy quizzes in just about every other lecture which can be tedious if you're the type to learn the material just before the midterm. Exams are simple. He's funny and is overall a good prof. Its a good class.
Madder than a box of frogs!
Pretty good.
You can't expect the class to be easy, and you have to plan on putting in extra time with office hours. It always pays to get to know your professors, and he is no exception. Very helpful and willing to spend the time to make sure you've got it.
OK teacher. Speaks English, which makes him a hell of a lot better than the rest of the math department.
