Harsh grading
Lecture can be boring sometimes since he reads off powerpoints, but I still found it helpful. You must have the book since homework is assigned out of it and you will need it for reference. Assigned problems are often confusing so make sure to get clarification if you don't understand the question.
Parhami wrote the book he teaches from, and he knows his stuff when it comes to computer architecture. great intro class.
Grade is based on attendance only. Really easy class, just sit in the back and sleep.
Seminar, attendance is the only determinant in passing. If you're interested, engage the lecture and try the challenges he presents to you. If not, sit in the back of the class and sleep, or do your CS 16/24 hw.
ECE1. seminar so just reviewing his lecture style. not actually put to the test. boring but bearable.
Pretty much zero class participation, the lectures might as well be video taped. His text book is also very poor in my opinion, confusing problems, awkward explanations. Understanding what the problem is asking is always the first problem, and I dont think that was his intention. Spent too much time going over material already covered in prereqs.
If powerpoint was a country, Parhami would be the king. I was one of the few people that actually went to class. His book is confusing, lacking, and the problems are hard to understand. The lectures consist of monotone powerpoint reading. I wish he paid attention to the prerequisites so that we did not spend half of the quarter doing assembly.
