CollegeSociology of Privilege has been my favorite class I've taken at UCSB. Professor Bridges is an engaging lecturer and the class is structured really well in which each week focuses on a different aspect of privilege. The midterm and final were challenging but doable and the essays came with a lot of guidance which was super helpful.
This is easily the best class I've taken in college. Dr. Bridges is the best teacher I've had at UCSB. His lectures are so good and the research we learned about was so interesting. There are weekly quizzes (not too hard), two papers (but he gives lots of directions), and a midterm and final exam. The exams were challenging, but fair. GREAT course.
Dr. Bridges is an amazing professor and the sociology of privilege was an awesome course. Really helpful for understanding different forms of inequality with very current readings and research.
This was the most interesting course I took in college. It was my last quarter of classes at UCSB. The lectures were so amazing. It's honestly a course that changed the way I look at the world. Be prepared to read a lot, but Dr. Bridges helps connect all of the readings and helps you figure out what you need to get from them to do well in class.
