EMS: Academic English . LING 3C
Third level in a three-course series intended to develop proficiency in university-level reading and writing. Emphasizes applying critical approaches to reading, practicing writing in a variety of academic styles, and developing grammatical and lexical resources appropriate to a university setting.
Prerequisites: Open to students who have a Linguistics 3C placement; or Linguistics 3B with a minimum grade of C.

Good teaching? Yes. She knows how to teach writing for sure. Genuinely caring her students? Probably no. Make full use of her office hours and your tuition. A contrast in grading between her and another male lecturer Ingrid: several 70s, 80s on essay Another lecturer (I took his ling12): lowest to highest: 52-60 out of 60
Mrs. Bowman is an amazing instructor, she is very nice and helpful. She was always glad to help all of her students and happy to receive any suggestions about lectures. But I have to say, she is a tough grader. Anyway, her lectures were helpful and I like her.
She is a really good person! Caring, respond quick, give detailed feedback on everything. The class is not easy, two timed essay. But if you pay attention to everything in class, participate in seminar, and read all the reading (load is okay), you gonna be okay.
A tough grader. And the many Fishbows were exhausting.
